September 11 - October 12, 2018
OPENING RECEPTION: Friday, September 14, 2018 7-9 p.m.
The show focuses on Hudson Bay Mountain and the community's relationship to it. The mountain stands over us, dominates the view, casts a shadow, and helps explains us. My paintings hope to explore what this feels like with expressive brush strokes and intense colours.
Mark Tworow graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Alberta College of Art in the 1990s. Mark paints landscapes, abstracts, and still lifes, and his paintings are known for their strong formal structure and lush painterly colours. He has held several major solo exhibitions showcasing over twenty works which are now held in private collections both here in Canada, the U.S., and in New Zealand.
His paintings can be seen online at www.marktworow.com
"When I paint the local landscape, I try to capture the emotional essence of the scene through the use of colour, brushstrokes, and light."
