We’re Hiring! Part-time Manager’s Assistant

Smithers Art Gallery is seeking a person to assist the Gallery Manager in all aspects of delivering the diverse programming and exhibitions provided by the Gallery.
The successful applicant will be a motivated individual capable of working independently on assigned tasks, will have good communication skills both written and verbal, will have basic competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher, and have a keen attention to detail. Interest in the visual arts and enthusiasm for learning new skills will be assets.
The Assistant position will be a term contract from the time of hiring until March 31, 2018. The Gallery will in the meantime be seeking additional funding to extend the position beyond this date. The Gallery's intent is to make the assistant's position a permanent component of Gallery operations if funding can be secured.
The initial contract will be for 15 hours/week, paid at $15 per hour. Flexibility in the timing of hours worked will be necessary to respond to programming needs.
