Home Movie Day!

with BV Museum staff

Saturday June 3, 11am-3pm

Fee: Free!
Registration: not required
Location: The Old Church, 3704 1st Ave, Smithers

Reconnect with family memories and days gone by at Home Movie Day! Bring in your old VHS, 8mm, Super 8 or 16mm recordings and we’ll play them for you! Learn tips and tricks for preserving your older recordings, as well as options for migrating your home videos to a digital format.

Types of films played will be subject to projector availability. Participants will be required to sign a release form before their film is played. Each recording will be physically inspected before play, and will be screened on a first-come first-played basis. Participants are encouraged to bring their films to the BV Museum in advance for physical inspection. Please expect to be present at the event for at least 45 minutes to see your film screened. Depending on the length of the recording we may not be able to play the entire film due to time limitations.

Admission is free, donations in support of this and other community events is greatly appreciated.

Smithers Art Gallery and the Bulkley Valley Museum are excited to be collaborating on our project "Canada 150+: What's Your Story?", a community exhibition and series of thematic workshops through which we hope to engage and bring together our diverse community to build a better understanding of our different experiences and shared commonality.

This initiative is made possible by the Community Fund for Canada’s 150th, a collaboration between the Bulkley Valley Community Foundation, Babine Animal Hospital, the Bulkley Valley Community Arts Council, the Government of Canada, and extraordinary leaders from coast to coast to coast.
