Introduction to Printmaking

Level: Beginner. For adults and older youth (16+ yrs).
Location: Smithers Art Gallery
In this introductory workshop we will learn basic printmaking techniques to create a limited edition of black and white prints. We will learn how to transfer a drawing onto lino, about registration, how to sign and title an edition and carving techniques. We will learn about the tools and materials needed for block printing and the importance of value differences in creating a well-designed print.
Please bring a black and white image that has been formatted to 3x4 inches that you can transfer onto your lino or some drawings and photos to use to create a print..
