This will be an introductory workshop on basic printmaking techniques

Session one:

We will learn the basic techniques to create a limited edition of black and white prints. You will learn how to transfer your drawing onto lino, registration, carving techniques and how to sign and title a limited edition.   We will learn about tools and material needed for block-printing and explore the importance of value differences in creating a well-designed print.

Session two:

We will explore block-printing on fabric using multiple colours. We will learn about fabric design, how to use multiple colours and proper registration techniques. Each participant will go home with handprinted fabric that they can use to make either a pillow cover or a placemat.
